Friday Fun Fact 8: Nessie Is Real!

How about this for a Friday Fun Fact?
Gordon Holmes, an amateur scientist, was taking footage of the famous Loch when suddenly he caught something on film. Those whom have seen the footage say it's the absolute most incredible video ever taken of the mysterious creature.

Mr. Holmes, a 55-year-old a lab technician from Shipley, Yorkshire said of the history-making moment, "I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this jet black thing, about 45ft (15m) long, moving fairly fast in the water."

The new video, which Mr. Holmes shot last weekend, shows "something" swimming straight across the lake (pictured right).

Is this creature some sort of giant eel? Maybe the last surviving plesiosaur??? Who knows, but you have to watch this video.

You can see the video HERE.

It's pretty amazing stuff.

Oh man, I love that accent. New footage of Nessie is pretty cool too.

Photo and video evidence is always suspect--and for good reason.

Wouldn't it be great, though, if we found that those two whales that went too far inland from the San Francisco Bay popped up in Loch Ness?

delmer, Those ladies' accents are awesome! Except when they say "Loch" is sounds like they're hacking up loogies.

david, Lots and lots of fakes for sure. It'll be scrutinized - but that's the fun part.

the worst possible outcome would be if real science gets involved. reality take sthe fun out of everything (except sex)

I'm surprised you haven't talked about the Saskwatch that they're claiming is here in the Alberta Rockies, there is even a scientist out to prove it exists! I think he`s a U of A researcher. I may be mis-remembering though.

ozy, Whenever there's a mystery, there's always going to be people wanting to solve it. The romantic side of me wants there to be a mystery in Loch Ness forever...as the legend has been around since 516 AD.
BUT, I wanna go sea serpent hunting!!! (not to kill, just to find).

Jennifer, That's a great "hat tip." That's the kind of stuff I want people to send me! Thanks.

Go on that website and read the comments. Good stuff!

That's pretty cool. Of all of those sort of things, I kind of figured Nessie was the least-likely.

Hmmmmm.

I hope it's Nessie. It's about time that they drag her onto land and make sure they stuff her up and put her into a museum. It looks too cold by that lake.

My ancestors are from that part of Scotland and for all I know, they're the ones that started this whole thing. If this is the case, then on behalf of my family, I sincerely apologize to the rest of the world. If not, never mind...

See now they want the area to be named a site of national pride or something like that.

Some people want Nessie to be named a wonder of the world. I am just wondering why anyone would logically think that you could name something a wonder of the world if it wasn't for sure that it existed.

I could not get the video to play because I am missing a plug-in & can't figure out what it is. :-(

How are you, Phoenix???

THE BLUEST BUTTERFLY said...

I am wondering what anyone will do with Nessie if anyone finds Nessie.

THE BLUEST BUTTERFLY said...

And logically speaking, it couldn't be the same creature that is being seen. So, if Nessie is real one would think that there has been/is more than one.

I am real. Why does everyone still need proof?

it's a world full of fun to image nessie.

but this video evidence???

The comments on the site are priceless! For example... "This is not Nessie. It's obviously an inner tube being dragged on the water, just like what happened on our lake."

I was half tempted to put in my own, "Obviously, that's clearly a sheet of black plastic, the type often used in Haunted Houses, attached to a motor, attached to a minor official of the tourism department, dragged 1.3 feet under water to LOOK like Nessie. It's not Nessie. Obviously."

I don't have full use of my badwidth at the monet but it does sound very interesting!

They should have one of those TV fishing show goobers go up there and try to land Nessie to solve this mystery once and for all (catch and release of course...)

I think it's a Baby Ruth candy bar.

Woops! Sorry, that was me and my inner tube.
"Nothing to see here folks, keep moving!"

That hydroponic sound capturing equipment sounds perfect for catching underwater hot tub sex sounds in porno vids.

Wait, are you saying there was some doubt to if Nessie was real? Perposterous! ;-)

I used to be fascinated by the unexplained. I had a book called Mysteries of the Unexplained. I'd read it before going to bed. And of course, I had plenty of nightmares:)

I saw this video on another blog. It's pretty convincing on the surface (pun intended).
We shall see if it holds up under intense scrutiny.
I'd sure LOVE to finally know what that supposed creature is!!
