Wish I Was Gone Fishin'

My new job (new as of February) has really got me running ragged all over the place. I was in Dallas a couple of weeks ago for four days, and then I've been all around Southern, IL. Next up: Central Illinois Monday - Wednesday.

Sorry I've been a little absent, but I hope to do some catching up when I can. While all alone in my hotel room, I hope to do some writing, as it's been a good week since that's happened. Balance life, work, and writing is pretty tough these days, but hopefully I'll figure out an efficient way to squeeze forty hours into twenty-four.

How about you? How the heck do you make time for writing with all that the rest of your life demands?

If you're curious about what I'll be talking about with opticians the next few days, check out the video below.

Central Ill you're close to our neck of the woods well kind of haha. I don't make time I finally updated after a LONG time last night.

Safe travels

I don't think I could live with so much traveling, but it's amazing what one can adjust to if necessary.
This past week I just forced myself back into writing. Not sure what I displaced by doing that, but I have two chapters done and am on a roll now.
Hope you can get some writing done.

I usually only travel within the state, but I do have a trip to St. Louis this summer. As for making time for writing, I feel your pain. Sometimes when I have an hour, it doesn't seem like long enough to get in the flow of writing and I end up doing something else like blogging.

I fight that battle every day. I find though, that I tend to waste more time than I realize. I've learned to be just a tad more disciplined when I have free time. No more 6 hour blocks of time wasted on youtube vids for 'research' and all that.

Sigh, now it's 4 hour blocks of time.

Does the tanning mom need to be told about this product?

Interesting product, Jay.

It's crazy trying to fit everything in. Sometimes I just don't.

I learned to be disciplined about a time schedule, but sometimes that has to go out the window. With traveling, I imagine that'd be harder to do ... make schedules.

Airplanes & airports bore me, so mayt that's some good writing time. Definitely good people watching time to get some sparks of inspiration.

Good luck catching up on your writing, what with all the traveling you have to do! I try to write at night after work or on the weekends. We do what we have to do!

I get no time to write when I'm really busy. So I'm trying to block out more time on my calendar to not be busy. I know that sounds strange but sometimes just the social engagements and family obligations alone suck up time. If I purposely block off certain days i think it will help. At least that's the plan. I've been too busy to put it into motion until just recently!

Wow, cool post. I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real hard work to make a great article… but I put things off too much and never seem to get started. Thanks though. Skinscraft
