Monday on Ice

I'm sick of winter. Anybody else? We've got ice, snow, and everything in between covering the streets here in St. Louis.

Since I'm going to be stuck here in my home office, I'm going to catch up on all kinds of busy work. I've got piles of stuff on my desk, and just not enough hours in the day. So I'll make this one quick.

My post last week, It Ain't Just About Victorian England Anymore got a lot of global exposure since it was part of the Steampunk Hands Around the World celebration that ended on Friday. Thank you to all that read it and gave me great feedback and comments. Also, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to my new readers.
Diana M. Pho "Ay-Leen the Peacemaker"

One of the best steampunk websites out there, Beyond Victoriana, is featuring my debut novel, Dragonfly Warrior. If you want to check out the prologue and entire first chapter, visit Diana M. Pho's lovely site. Diana is an expert in all things steampunk, and she's been featured on BBC America, HGTV, the Science Channel, and the Travel Channel.  She also works for Tor books.

Diana has really promoted my book, and I'm forever grateful for her help.

So give her a visit!

I'll see you back here on Wednesday for another edition of my Insecure Writer's Support Group post.

P.S. Dragonfly Warrior is only 99 CENTS on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and  Smashwords. This is only for a limited time, so download the ebook version of my debut novel NOW!

That's cool you got a lot of exposure with that post. Hope the feature on Diana's site gets even more!

Congrats on being featured on that website!

We're expecting sleet tonight. It's MARCH. I am so ready for winter to end.

I'm starting to think this winter will never end.

Alex: I hope so too!

L. Diane: Thanks. The streets are like an ice rink out here.

PT: I think you're right. We need to kill the Ice Queen!

Everything but the weather... EXCELLENT NEWS! Look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

Jay Noel said...

Robin: Yes, everything BUT the weather!

It's turned quite mild this side of the pond. Still raining of course (this is England after all). Great you're getting more exposure.

Moody: Rain is better than ice! And thanks. Hopefully it'll make up for a lack of a blog tour or any other kind of promotion.

Congratulations on being featured, and I had no idea you lived in St. Louis. That's one of the cities I really want to go and visit sometime.

Jay Noel said...

Michael: Thanks. And if you do ever visit, I strongly recommend St. Louis Springs and Falls. We truly do have all four distinct seasons here, but this winter just will not end.

It's the same here in Michigan. It seems once a weather pattern takes hold..it lasts awhile. I remember having winters like this when I was a kid..and I liked it back then.

Congrats on your sale and being featured on the Beyond Victoriana blog! I hope you sell lots! I completely forgot about the IWSG post - uh-oh. I have no idea what I'll write about...

Our winters are pretty nice, but I still would love to get some snow over here so I'll take anything you can spare. :)

how many copies have you sold so far? Are you satisfied?
We haven't had almost no winter here in Central Europe this year :( It's been spring all winter

Jay Noel said...

Cindy: The last winter we had like this was 20 years ago, but it didn't last this long.

Lexa: Thanks. And yikes! I still haven't written my post either, but there's a lot to be insecure about.

Kimberly: We didn't get the 7-8 inches of snow. Just shy of three inches of solid ice and sleet. Can't shovel that.

Dez: I haven't sold nearly enough to cover my losses. When you become your own publisher, it's all about minimizing the costs as much as possible. But I expect to be "in the red" for a long time.

Congrats on the exposure Jay! Sometimes it pays to know the right people. You're excerpt is incredible by the way!

Jay Noel said...

Maurice: Thanks, man. I'm trying my best to get out there. But it's still a struggle to get my book in peoples' hands.
