Summer...Time To Kick My Own Ass

My kids are now out of school. Yeah, it went long because of the million snow days they had this past winter. But that doesn't mean I'm getting much of a break at all.

I know last week was a big downer and I was all whiny and stuff, but I wanted to thank everyone who gave me some positive vibes. Quitting is not in the cards for me, but like I said, there's always that little evil voice in the back of my head that makes me doubt myself.

So despite the thousands of starts and stops I go through in my own psychosis, I've got work to do.

The first thing I need to do is let you all know that my debut novel, Dragonfly Warrior, is on sale for 99 cents again. I decided to do this to help break my big slump, and it worked. I know it's temporary, but I needed the morale booster. Going 22 days without selling ONE book was just destroying my confidence.

Here are the links: Amazon, B&N, and iTunes

The second thing I need to do is show you the book trailer for the second book in The Mechanica Wars series, Shadow Warrior. I look forward to giving you more information on this project, but since the novel is going to be published on August 8th, I needed to get the trailer out into the interwebs ASAP.

So here it is:

Finally, I've been working on a secret project with the wonderful Miranda Hardy for a good two years now. It has been an amazing experience collaborating with another author, and it's to the point where together, we make one pretty damn awesome writer.

Our Young Adult paranormal/thriller is called Death Knocks, and we'd like to do a cover reveal the week of July 21st. If you're interested, please sign up below.

This novel will drop September 26th, just in time for Halloween!

Summer is going to be busy for me, but I do hope to squeeze a little vacation in there somewhere. Hope you're being productive too!

I will add you to the list of people who I would tell something that I want kept under wraps. I can't believe you kept this secret for TWO YEARS about writing a novel with Miranda Hardy. And that it is being published! Wow.

I am aware that many series writers often have that first book on sale for $.99 (and I even see free) to generate interest in the series. It is a harder call when you only have one book available. It gets easier with two and will be easier yet with three!!! So happy for you:)

99 cents is good - don't offer it free until more books are out though. You worked hard. Don't give away your hard work for free.

I hope you get a lot of sales, leading to good reviews.

Dez: I appreciate your foot being so handy. Lol.

Robin: Yes, I'm pretty good at keeping a secret. So glad I finally get to share it with everybody. FINALLY!

Diane: Exactly. I'll probably make it FREE when book 3 comes out.

PT: Thanks buddy. I'm just looking for a little momentum to keep going.

Just bought it! Also, great trailer..... After Effects? Did you build it yourself? I'm learning the program now. :)

I think I'm going on vacation during your cover reveal but I'll check on that. Congrats on collaboration. I would be so nervous about trying something like that.

Signed up for your cover reveal. Have already downloaded your book, but at .99 will do it again. A sale is a sale, right?

Don't feel so bad...try going several months w/o selling a book.

Keep your head up, bro! You have lots going on! Best way to sell more books is to have more books :)

Seriously, sales will pick up for you this fall. I mean, you'll have three books out. Three! Building a readership doesn't happen overnight, so no worries. You're doing it right. :)

Death Knocks sounds awesome! I'm booked out WAY past July 21, but I'd be happy to have you two on the blog October 8th for a Writerly Wednesday if your book will be out the door by then. You've got my email address, right?

This is great information on choosing a medical staffing.. In the service industry, evaluating how well that relationship is going to work is very important.
